Application of UV-C Irradiation to Rosa x hybrida Plants as a Tool to Minimise Macrosiphum rosae Populations

UV-C irradiation is known to enhance plant resistance against insect pests. In the present study, we evaluated effects of low doses on Macrosiphum rosae infesting greenhouse rose (Rosa x hybrida) plants. The application 2.5-kJ/m2 leaves before infestation induced anti-herbivore and negatively affected aphid fecundity.
